Sinking Ships by Skye Laverna

Don’t wanna date,

Cause it’s too late

People miss the old school love,

But don’t wanna go above

And beyond a single text

Move on to the next;

Then wonder why they’re lonely.

Oh, boohoo if only

You had the common sense

To know the consequences

Of playing your little games

Ending up digging their graves

As they wane away

From the grains

Of salt inflicted on their wounds,

Their love locked in a tomb.

You complain how hard it is

To even get a text back

But you can’t even keep track

Of which dude did text,

And play silly hard to get.

Still wonder why good lovers are hard to get?

Y’all got screwed by your own rules,

Thinking y’all are jewels

When you’re only fools

Gold medal on being the tool

That fixes everyone’s conflicts

Around dating, y’all convicts

Who killed what relationships

Mean with all your situationships

Now with your head held high,

Go down with your ship…
